Treefest

We’ve never been to a Wood Fair before. But we will go again!!

Treefest was held at the beautiful Westonbirt Arboretum, in Gloucestershire.

This was about everything wood. there were loads of planks of every type of wood to buy (if you wanted to make something)

Plus loads of stalls selling all sorts of wooden products.

We stayed on site for the three days and enjoyed the atmosphere, especially in the evenings when we joined many other traders

in the music tent for a chat , dance and a few beers.

There was loads for visitors to do. One of the most popular was the tree climbing.

Some of the woodturning was really impressive. This wooden French Horn was actually playable.

We didn’t win any prize but the “Best” stall went to the inventive “Out of our Tree” who make inspired bird boxes.

Take a look at their website you’ll see what I mean. (Click their name above for the link)

A worthy winner indeed.

I did pick a Dog of the show. It’s the lovely “Scooter”, a minature wire haired Dachsund.

What a great three days. See you their next year.
